Woodland Themed Wedding

I know I say this about every wedding but this really was one of my all time favourite weddings! Natalie and Steve had a vision. Their vision was a play on an enchanted woodland wedding to include a large floral arch for the ceremony and lots of rustic green foliage playing a big part in the table decorations.

The wedding ceremony took place in a rustic wedding barn called ‘The Birches’ at Hampton Manor in Solihull, where beautifully scented eucalyptus garlands lined the wedding aisle and a selection of burgundy, blush pink, apricot and ivory flowers adorned the purpose built silver birch arch. The ’woodland’ theme was the perfect pairing for the estate’s rustic wedding barn.

A variety of seasonal flowers and foliage were carefully selected which consisted of David Austin Juliet Roses, Secret Garden Roses, Romantic Antike Roses, Burgundy Roses, White Lady Spray Rose, Astilbe, Astrantia, Chocolate Cosmos, Stocks, Ammi, Thistle, Viburnum Berries, Hellebores, Eucalyptus, Ivy and Soft Ruscus.

Natalie opted for a traditional cascade bouquet which complimented her beautiful lace bridal gown perfectly, and the pops of burgundy and pink flowers were the perfect accompaniment for the raspberry coloured bridesmaid dresses.

After the happy couple tied the knot, it was over to the beautiful Courtyard for the wedding breakfast. Situated in the main house, the Courtyard is a mix of both historic and contemporary and houses the most spectacular chandelier suspended from the glass roofed atrium.

Textured foliage garlands lined the tables interspersed with beautiful antique bronze candlesticks and cut glass tea light holders. The ‘woodland’ theme continued throughout the room, from the miniature wood slices used to hold the table placement cards, to the botanical wedding stationery and rustic twine used to hang the cute polaroid pictures of the bride and groom.

One of my favourite wedding installations is a floral arch. It can really transform a space and makes a wonderful backdrop for photographs. After the wedding party left the ceremony and convened in the beautiful Courtyard, we carefully dismantled and moved the floral arch to frame the happy couple at the top table during their wedding breakfast.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Natalie and Steve on their wedding florals, and i’m truly grateful to have been a part of their special day.
